Cricket batsman.

Played club cricket for Downend C.C., based near Bristol in England, before he became an Australia Test player.

He was awarded an A.M. (Member of the Order of Australia) in the 1986 Queen's Birthday Honours List for his services to the sport of cricket.

He was awarded the A.O. (Officer of the Order of Australia) in the 1989 Queen's Birthday Honours List for his services to cricket.

He was awarded the Australian Sports Medal in the 2000 Queen's Birthday Honours List for his services to cricket.
